James Ottenson, PHD
James Otteson, PhD, is the John T. Ryan, Jr. Professor of Business Ethics, and Rex and Alice A. Martin Faculty Director of the Notre Dame/Deloitte Center for Ethical Leadership in the Mendoza College at the University of Notre Dame. He is also a Senior Scholar at the Fund for American Studies, a Senior Fellow at the Fraser Institute, and past president of the Association of Private Enterprise Education.

Previously he has taught at several universities, Including New York University, Georgetown University, and the University of Alabama. He has PhD in philosophy from the University of Chicago, and an MA from the University of Wisconsin.

HIs latest book is Seven Deadly Sins: Obstacles to Prosperity and Happiness Every Citizen Should Know. He is also the author of The Essential David Hume, The End of Socialism, Adam Smith, among others.
